Supervision, Coaching and Training
Tania has undertaken supervision training and engaged in supervision of her supervision for a number of years. As the Director of Social Work in Child and Youth Mental Health Services, Tania extended her clinical practice supervision to social workers and other mental health workers across Queensland. In 2016, Tania established the first state-wide child and youth mental health service eating disorder program. As the Program Manager of the eating disorder program, she extended her supervision of empirical models across Queensland to individuals and groups, including the supervision of supervision.

Dr Tania Withington holds a Bachelor of Social Work, a Masters in Social Work, a Graduate Certificate in Advanced Family therapy and a Doctor of Philosophy. She is also a member of the Australian Association of Social Work and an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker. She is a member of Australian New Zealand Academy of Eating Disorders and an Accredited Clinician.
Dr Tania has over 30 years social work experience and has worked in not-for-profit, primary, secondary and tertiary health care settings in mental health (child and adolescent, adult), disability, education, aged care and leadership (discipline specific and service). She has worked in rural and remote, regional and metropolitan areas. Her early training was in group work and community development. She undertook a number of years training and supervised practice in these areas. She then advanced her training in family therapy undertaking post graduate study and a number of years of supervised practice.
From 2004 Dr Tania began her training in evidenced based treatments and is a certified clinician, supervisor and trainer in Family Based Treatment of Anorexia Nervosa. She has trained and undertaken supervised practice in Multi Family Therapy, Attachment Based Family Therapy, and Emotion Focused Therapy and Emotional Focused Skills Training.

Coaching
Tania has extensive experience in the provision of coaching and mentorship of service leaders. You will be supported to:
Develop your leadership skills
Develop your clinicians and future service leaders
Develop and manage sustainable teams with positive relationships and work culture
Lead and manage projects in clinical contexts from small clinical service trial to large service development
Lead service innovation, implementation and evaluation
Supervision and coaching style
To encourage reflective practice and develop reflective capacity.
Facilitate knowledge, understanding and confidence in implementing specific therapy models / addressing specific leadership challenges.
Facilitate case based / challenge based discussion, planning and review.
Provide consultation on complex cases/scenario’s, working collaboratively to build clinician/leader capacity
Training Workshops
Tania has provided training in child and youth mental health, therapeutic approaches to treatment, specific therapeutic models, eating disorders, advanced therapeutic approaches for complex presentations, for many years. Participant feedback has indicated she is personable, approachable, interactive and responsive, while guiding participants to achieve training outcomes.
